MAGGOTS FEASTING ON THE CORPSE OF THE AMERICAN DREAM

During my two-month stint in the oil fields of North Dakota, I met a lot of reporters from all over the world: Germany, France, Switzerland, Japan. The only country that wasn’t interested in the oil patch was America itself, for some reason. The only American journalists you’ll find in Williston are either from the local paper or TV crews from nearby Minot or Bismarck.

Now the government-media complex is turning their disapproving eye on the Bakken, lamenting the plight of the womenfolk there:
At work, at housing camps and in bars and restaurants, men have been left to mingle with their own. High heels and skirts are as rare around here as veggie burgers. Some men liken the environment to the military or prison.

"It's bad, dude," said Jon Kenworthy, 22, who moved to Williston from Indiana in early December. "I was talking to my buddy here. I told him I was going to import from Indiana because there’s nothing here."
This has complicated life for women in the region as well.

Many said they felt unsafe. Several said they could not even shop at the local Walmart without men following them through the store. Girls’ night out usually becomes an exercise in fending off obnoxious, overzealous suitors who often flaunt their newfound wealth.

"So many people look at you like you’re a piece of meat,” said Megan Dye, 28, a nearly lifelong Williston resident. “It’s disgusting. It’s gross."
Feminist coffee klatch Jezebel also picked up on the above story, adding their typical snarky and contentless commentary to the mix:
The workers, however, seem less concerned with the violence against female residents and more about their inability to get laid. Men joke about a “Williston 10″ — a woman who would be deemed unattractive anywhere else in the country, but becomes a viable option out of desperation — and there’s often talk about bringing in women from the outside.
All of the claims made in the articles are massively exaggerated. It’s true that women there are less safe than they would be in the 99% white ZIP codes that the average NYT employee lives in, but this can be mitigated by basic common sense. Don’t leave the house after dark without a male escort. Don’t dress like a prostitute. Don’t get sloppy drunk.
In other words, you won’t find trouble unless you specifically go looking for it.
This is the second prong of the Cathedral’s attack on the oil patch, the last bastion of productive private sector work in America. North Dakota is the state with the lowest unemployment rate and one of only three that is running a budget surplus; the other two are South Dakota and Montana, the other states that contain part of the Bakken. Taxes are low and getting lower; as part of his reelection campaign, Governor Jack Dalrymple promised a huge property tax cut for the state’s residents.

Meanwhile, both the NYT and Gawker Media (Jezebel’s parent company) are based in New York, one of the most economically depressed states in the union. The state’s deficit is one of the largest, taxes are high and going higher, and Governor Andrew Cuomo is a brazen sociopath who is more concerned with stealing guns out of the hands of law-abiding citizens than addressing the fact that nobody wants to live in the Empire State anymore.
Put simply, the vampires are running out of victims to prey on.
Anti-hydrofracking groups, funded with Saudi oil money, have been trying to scare people into banning fracking by making up lies that it causes earthquakes and pollutes drinking water. Their propaganda is backfiring; environmentalist movies like Promised Land (which was bankrolled by the government of Qatar, another Middle Eastern oil barony that would be in big trouble if America became energy independent) are getting panned by the critics for being too heavy-handed. The people want to drill, baby, drill.
So the Cathedral has fallen back on one of their oldest and cheapest tactics: the woman card.
Expect the hysteria about RAPE! RAPE! RAPE! in the Bakken to accelerate. Expect the Democrats in Congress to lead a commission investigating the “oppression” of women in North Dakota. Expect loaded inquiries into why so few women are being hired by Halliburton et al. and why men are making so much more. Even if it goes nowhere, I fully expect Obama to do what he did with the Keystone pipeline; scuttle and wreck progress in the Bakken until he gets his blood money, like an African strongman or Mafia don.
After all, when it’s the welfare of the wimmenz that’s at stake, how can you say no? “What, do you WANT women to be raped by these evil, knuckle-dragging roustabouts? What kind of patriarchal monster ARE you?”
Obama and his supporters are maggots feasting on the corpse of the American dream.
