The Italian political establishment has now been crushed in Italy after a deal was made between two radical, insurgent, populist parties that scored big in the country's recent election.
A few days ago, on April 25th, Italy celebrated a national holiday, La Liberazione d'Italia. This anniversary marks the end of fascism and the Second World War and the liberation from Nazi occupation. Many Italians of the Left rejoice, while many on the Right see it as a “communist holiday.”
When Hitler committed suicide in Berlin on the 30th of April, the direct cause was the military collapse of Germany and the victory of the Red Army, but the event that emotionally triggered it was the death two days previously of Hitler’s main ally, the Italian dictator Benito Mussolini. Hitler simply did not want to live in a world without Mussolini.
Being a European nationalist party means having to deal with the constant threat of being called a "racist." The best way to cope with this slur is to use a little "cognitive dissonance" and have one or two "based" Black members so that the Left's accusations simply look stupid.
This is what Matteo Salvini's Lega party did, and it is probably one of the reasons why they were the biggest winner in last Sunday's Italian election, with Salvini likely to become the country's next Prime Minister with the support of other Right-wing parties.
The results of the Italian general election are rolling in, and the latest projections show a massive swing to the Right as well as to the anti-political populist 5 Star Movement. What this essentially means is that Italy has been saved from the Third World doormat policies of the globalist Left that have allowed in hundreds of thousands of African and Muslim migrants into Europe, causing social chaos and pushing up crime rates.
It would be nice to have elections where the main issues were, say, things like farm subsidies, dog hygiene, maternity leave, bicycle paths, whether museums should be free or not, and which days to have national holidays on. But forget it. Those days are gone. Practically all Western countries live under the curse of mass immigration and the moral tyranny of taking in the world's refugees. This means that from now on all elections will be increasingly -- and maybe even exclusively -- about race and nothing else.
There has never been a year like 2016—Brexit, Trump, and in Italy a movement that goes beyond conventional party politics, ideology, and organization. YouTube vlogger State of the Nation attempts to explain Beppe Grillo:s Five Star Movement, a revolt against the endemic corruption of Italian politics and a truly radical attempt to harness the internet and social media to cut out the party political middle man of politics. Is it just a flash in the pan or will its populism overthrow the EU and prepare the way for a more nationalist Italy?
Liddell: CasaPound is still not so well known in the English-speaking countries, even by those active in right wing politics. Could you introduce your movement to our readers and describe it? How big is CasaPound? How many members and how much support do you have?
The purpose here is not to discuss CasaPound’s ideas or objectives. This neofascist group defends ideas that are rooted in Italian history and would seem out of place in North America. The focus of this essay is on the methods used by CasaPound to achieve the success it is now achieving and to highlight the ones that could be imported here in order to build a strong alternative movement.
