The founders of National Geographic
by Hewitt E. Moore

Most of us are familiar with National Geographic. It's the official magazine of the National Geographic society, and has been published continuously since 1888. The society was formed by an elite group of 33 explorers, scholars and scientists, who were all (White men) interested in travel and exploration. Their mission was to organize “a society for the increase and diffusion of geographic knowledge.”

JEWISH INFLUENCE IN THE 2018 MIDTERMS

IN DEFENCE OF COUNTERSIGNALLING

According to Wikipedia, countersignalling is "the behavior where agents with the highest level of a given property invest less into proving it than individuals with a medium level of the same property". In other words, it means "showing off by refusing to show off" - and thereby differentiating yourself from those who have to show off, in order to distinguish themselves from those who have nothing to show off. A good example is seen in the behaviour of old-money aristocrats who downplay their wealth and disdain to spend money on frivolities, distinguishing themselves from parvenus who have to buy all sorts of status symbols in order to distinguish themselves from the working class.

The Engelman controversy has been interesting. Not since watching Busby Berkeley’s Babes on Broadway (1941) have I seen so many knees jerk in unison. The hatred of Engelman, a poor soul who is driven to live his life on comment boards, is clearly palpable, like an open wound or a grisly, throbbing case of butt hurt.
