Colin Liddell, Chief Editor of Alternative Right, celebrated New Year's Day by visiting a pagan shrine to pray for the further success of the Alt-Right in 2017. The shrine in question is Atago Shrine, built on the highest eminence in central Tokyo by the order of the Shogun, Ieyasu Tokugawa, and dedicated to the Fire God Homusubi no Mikoto as a means of safeguarding the city from fire. Due to the large number of steps leading up to the shrine, it is also seen as a suitable shrine to pray at for promotion.
