THE END OF HISTORY AND THE Z MAN

by Ryan Andrews

If you’re looking for an example of libertarian Boomer posting, it doesn’t get much better than this. Not only is it is very representative, but that really is about as profound as their thinking goes. So, of course, I pretty much agree with AltRight’s recent vlog discussing the deficiencies of the boomer-created political paradigm.

VANGUARD (17): RE GENERATION

The 17th of the Vanguard Podcasts, featuring Richard Spencer, Andy Nowicki, and Colin Liddell. In this edition they are joined by French activist Roman Bernard to discuss France's promising new youth group "Génération Identitaire" and generational differences in nationalism and identity.

TO LIVE AND DIE IN LAS VEGAS

It has been observed by psychologists that gamblers have a tendency to move away from more conservative bets to riskier, higher return bets at the end of the day. This is called quite simply end-of-the-day betting. What is true for gamblers can also be true in life. Those nearing the end of the road and sensing in their bones their approaching death may have a tendency to throw caution to the wind in order to gain an impressive pay out.

THE GAPS BETWEEN THE STARS: THE SEMANTICS OF "INTERSTELLAR"

The ever-popular astronaut and bookcase theme.

By now most of you will have seen Christopher Nolan's latest movie Interstellar, or decided not to bother, so spoiler alerts are no longer an issue. It is fairly well-written, ably-acted, and stylishly executed. There is plenty of interest and much provocation of thought, so I don't regret the money I spent to go and watch it.

But what is the message?

Is it, as some claim, a great invocation of the fucked-up Faustian spirit of European man? Is it a Nietzschen opus of man slaying his Last Man avatar and becoming his own Prometheus? Or is it simply "damn it all" escapism from the complex and daunting challenges we face here on Earth?

THE CHOOM GANG IN THE WHITE HOUSE

Jonathan Gruber triggered a political tempest when videos surfaced of him admitting, nay, bragging, that he and his comrades not only deceived voters, but manipulated them by using key terms to mislead and then delivered something else entirely.

Whether or not Gruber’s actions are evil, acceptable or merely predictable, he raised an interesting point for the American voters: would you elect yourself to the position of voter? After all, it seems like every year confidence in government falls and yet the voters keep consistently electing bad leaders.

As they say in the hills, fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. It turns out the Barack Hussein Obama presidency has brought unprecedented levels of corruption, failure and reduced national prestige, but voters seemingly excited about his half-African origins and strong liberal credentials voted him into office twice. Is it time for the voters to step down?

2030: WHEN WWII FINALLY ENDS

See, long ago there was a war. This wasn't the first great war, but the beginnings of all modern wars. There were a bunch of peasants and a few kings. One day the peasants rose up and took over and killed off the kings. Thus began the instability. That was 1789, in a place called France.

THE DEATH MORALITY OF THE LEFT

Leftists: self abnegating and selfish at the same time.

by Colin Liddell

One of the chief characteristics of modernity is a departure from traditional morality, but merely deviating from such morality does not mean the abnegation of that morality, which is founded on eternal truths. Rather it is a form of negative affirmation of that morality. Therefore we should not be surprised that such deviation creates a strong sense of moral inferiority among those who choose that path, and thus impels a desperate need to offset it and reset the moral balance.

This simple psychological equation can be used to explain much of what we see in Leftism and why the extreme Left tends to attract the viler kinds of human being.

AS SOCIAL TRUST WANES, WE WEAKEN

by Henry Dampier

The West is in a crisis surrounding a general collapse in social trust. Rather than focusing too much on the macro political situation, I would rather explore the consequences of this at the personal level.

Unlike when my grandfathers were working, or when my father worked, it is common for employees to distrust their bosses and their co-workers. There is no sense that the company exists for the long term benefits of its stake-holders. At a far lower level of technology and gross profitability, employees even at the lower level could expect to advance their careers within the same corporation for their entire lives. My grandfather was not an executive — he was a simple accountant at General Electric — but his retirement package ultimately made him a multimillionaire. He lived modestly for most of his life, did not work long hours, and raised two children.
