I try to keep a keen eye on the passing pop culture scene, but somehow, this commercial slipped under my radar screen. It seems that it was first put out in January, but I didn't run across it until just now.

And frankly, I'm still rubbing my eyes, doubting that I could actually have seen what I actually just saw.

Those who advance the hotly-debated “white sharia” meme on the alt-right appear at present to be waging a two-front war against their critics.

Fighting a war on two fronts isn’t necessarily an unworthy enterprise (though it did turn out to be a bit of a bunker bust for ol’ Adolf); however, in this case, the problem arises in that their two main modes of argumentation are mutually contradictory.

I hate to say this about The Hateful Eight, but my initial response to Quentin Tarantino’s latest offering is that it's just OK. I should say upfront that I am usually a fan and supporter of QT’s work. Maybe it's his weakest film, barring the self acknowledged failure of Death Proof.
