WHAT'S WRONG WITH WHITE MEN?



In 2016, White males accounted for 7 of 10 suicides in the United States (roughly 32,000 of the 44,965 reported suicides). To put that number in perspective, 17,250 people died from homicide, and about 37,000 people died in car accidents. Whites are statistically 3x more likely to commit suicide than Blacks or Hispanics. And men are 3.5x more likely to commit suicide than women (although women attempt suicide 2x more often than men).

ON THE OCCASION OF OUR BIRTHDAY

It’s an interesting coincidence that the New Alternative Right shares the same birthday as the Bright and Morning Star, the Alpha and Omega, the Ancient of Days, the Prophet of Nazareth, the Eternal Judge of the Quick and the Dead, and the Light of the World – all epithets of Jesus Christ, the Saviour of Mankind for the World’s Christians.

We can’t quite claim to be all those things...yet, but in the first year of our operation, we like to think that we have at least cast a few opinions on both the "quick and the dead" and spread a glimmer of light to our many readers across the globe.

ROGER SCRUTON ON WAGNER'S PHILOSOPHY


Roger Scruton on "Philosophical Conversations" discusses Wagner's view of the erotic with the rather fetching Sarah-Jane Leslie. Unlike Plato and Kant, who saw the erotic as that which united us with the beasts, Wagner saw it as that which distinguishes us from them, a quintessential feeling that liberates us from power and offers us redemption and transcendence of the self.
