One hundred years ago, progressives referred to people of color as 'backward races,' 'degenerate and unprogressive,' 'non-adults. Today's leftists, of course, believe no such thing. They think all humans are equal, as they tell us at every available opportunity.

Don't they?

The rhetoric and the actions emanating from the left as of late show that they have perhaps taken a U-turn—a salutary one. People of Color, they are now saying, in fact have little agency, are prisoners of their instincts, and thus can't be held to the same standards as other ethnies.

THE LARPING OF NASA

NASA has recently come out in support of ditching the American flag in favour of using what has been described as an “International Flag of the Planet Earth.” Accompanying the story is a picture of a Non-White woman in a space suit, sitting in front of two of the new flags, reminding all you cisgendered racists out there that the endless vacuity of the cosmos is essentially a feminine space that must no longer be violated by the phallic rocket thrust of the evil White man.

If one desires equality, one cannot have individuality. The two cancel each other out. Either basic pigment is celebrated or else talent. If you want the former, just watch the NAACP Image Accolades (you’ll be about the only person who does), while if you want the latter (theoretically, at least) watch the Academy Awards.

Yet, given that we now live in a “post-racial society,” the apprehension that too many Oscar nominees were Caucasian saw the recent gathering hailed as a virtual Klan rally of our entertainment industry.

A government which represents a regime, meaning not to serve its purpose as government for the existing term but with the calling to transform the entire society, rules not so much through brutal force, but through the control of the public debate and of certain key terms.

Of course, most regimes sugarcoat their hard ideology with nice-sounding words and catch-phrases, so that their ideological goals will sound innocent and benign. In contemporary South Africa, the African National Congress (ANC), which has ruled South Africa since 1994, boasts of having freed the black majority of apartheid and white minority oppression. The ANC's representatives continually regurgitate a variety of such words that have been stripped of their original meaning, in order to sell a left-wing ideology. In his famous book 1984, George Orwell used the name “newspeak” for such ideologically-twisted words, which frequently mean the very opposite of what they seem to mean. Here are a few of the ANC’s most popular “newspeak” words:

The original draft of a district court judge's brief declaring a ban on gay marriage "unconstitutional" in the state of Virginia contains a gaffe that is drawing hoots, hollers, sneers, and derisive guffaws from some quarters, and embarrassed silence from elsewhere.

In essence, Judge Arenda Wright Allen (pictured above) doesn't seem to know her Declaration of Independence from her Constitution from a blessed hole in the ground.

LIBERAL HEGEMONY

When an ideology gains control of the institutions that shape opinion, it is said to have gained hegemony. At this point, something happens to public discourse. As the tenets of the ideology are considered objective and not subjective, all contenders must embrace them to keep their corner of the ring. Its ends cannot be contested, only their means. One cannot propose an altogether different value system, but only critique ways of realizing it.

Rather than clashing ideologies, we have clashing methods. The result is the assimilation of all competition into the dominant ideology and their reduction to a shadow of it. There are thus no options beyond minor variations in the same type of thought. In Western democracies, this is the current condition in regards to Liberalism.
