On Wednesday (19th January) something that wasn't supposed to happen, happened: Covid curled up and died.
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson stood up in Parliament and announced that mandatory face coverings in public places and vaccine passports were to cease henceforth. The government also dropped its advice for people to work from home.
This was deeply embarrassing to one group of people in particular -- the conspiritards, i.e. those who believe that Covid is just a made up disease so that Davos-controlled globalists, like Johnson, can seize more power and introduce something like a Chinese-style social credit system in the West as part of a greater plan for One-World government and mass depopulation.
Yes, stand up more than half of the Dissident Right.
People like Dave Cullen (Computing Forever) and Paul Joseph Watson, who rake in fortunes from their gullible followers, along with many lesser lights of the "Conspiritard-o-Sphere" were left swinging in the wind by Boris's announcement. It literally took the ground from beneath their feet and wind from beneath their wings.

This is because people are stupid, the world is complicated, and nobody can explain to the peanut gallery the intricacies of power -- or its limitations.
Sure, there are still other governments acting in ways that continue to feed the Orwellian myth of the conspiritards: Austria is attempting to coerce its people into taking vaccines, while its near homonym Australia is expelling tennis players who clash with its "lock down messaging." But meanwhile, in "Perfidious Albion," the home of the "Eternal Anglo" and the seat of the "Reptilian Monarchy," the one place on the Earth outside Switzerland where you would expect the Globalists to be pushing extra hard, they have mysteriously given up the ghost and lost focus. Gadzooks! We have even seen a return to comparative normality.
It really is beginning to look like some governments, at least, were just trying to do the right thing about a tricky new flu, and didn't have some dark, deep, and dirty secret agenda like all the idiots and grifters in the Dissident Right claimed.
People, next time you see a steaming hot pile of conspiritard bullshit, try not to jump on it and shovel it down your quivering throat as fast as possible. It's not a good look, honest!

You are being far too kind to the governments. You don't need to think that the virus does not exist to make the case that it was seized upon to introduce digital ID and increase State control. Taking that view, the problem is that the government's could note keep up the pretence of a high level of severity to maintain mass compliance to use vaccine passports everywhere as a defacto ID card.

I've got nothing against people coming up with outlandish theories, but at some point they have to pan out and actually describe or predict reality. In the case of the UK they have clearly failed.
Colin - not following your logic here. So your conspiritards - do they speak and write only so that they can continue to speak and write? Or are some of them perhaps real people with real belief systems who are sounding the alarm in hopes that something will change? Are you certain that every conspiratard (and, I suspect I'm one of them by your reasoning) is genuinely unhappy that one lone country took a step back from COVID lunacy? Please be a bit less of a drama queen in your criticisms, lest you find yourself in bed with us conspiratards.
DeleteThe point I make here is a simple one. The conspiritards I refer to are different from simple sceptics. While sceptics express various doubts, some of them quite legitimate, the conspiritard, in his hunger for views and clicks, tells you what is "really going on," in this case claiming there is a massive international agenda to use the Coof to steal our freedoms. When that doesn't happen, as we see in the UK and several other places by now, they simply ignore the fact that their claims were emphatically disproved, and, with undiminished certainty, move onto their next piece of conspiritard BS. Their idiotic followers hardly notice, as all they crave is fear porn, victimology, and a sense of powerlessness.
DeleteIf it was just an attempt to suppress a lab leaked virus they would have stopped in July 2020 when it was clearly far less dangerous than initially claimed. But they introduce the mandatory mask psyop to keep the fear going until they frighten everyone into the vaccine: the only possible way out of the pandemic they said. You also have the fact that all the countries ripped up their pandemic preparedness plans to deal with the virus: there is no chance they couldn't predict there could be a virus like SARS Cov2 in the past.

OK, your theory is that the goal of the so-called "Psy-op" was just to get everyone - or most people - vaxxed? So what's in the "vax" and how can you prove it.

I can't prove what's in the vax but that is irrelevant for my theory. The vax clearly enriches politically connected individuals and was a vehicle for vaccine passports. The problem is they moved too slowly to get them embedded. How on earth do you explain the lies deceit and bad faith of the Western powers assuming just good intentions?

It wasn't a conspiracy. It started out as a case of cover-your-ass. Then the media, scientists, and health care professionals started feeding off of each other. Then it started to make them a lot of money and fame. Eventually it got to the point where it was too late to walk it back. We'll see if the relaxation in the UK holds. We're in the midst of a surge and the associated panic here in The States. The pattern has been relax-restrict-relax-restrict. There is always the next variant, but the sensible person understands that, though COVID is slightly dangerous, the reward of participating as normal in society outweighs the risk of virus exposure.

ReplyDeleteThe smart-stupid dichotomy is too simplistic. I know many biology PhDs. They all support BLM and strict Covid policy, yet all are smart by conventional standards. Humans have evolved to follow the herd and the chief. Right now, BLM and Covid are what the herd/chiefs are promoting. If this were 1930s Germany, these same smart types would be just as vehemently pro-Nazi as they are today pro-BLM.
