THUNDER FROM THE GODS: BRONZE AGE MINDSET BY BRONZE AGE PERVERT

Two months ago, I bought Bronze Age Mindset, the debut book from dissident right figure and self-styled “aspiring nudist bodybuilder” Bronze Age Pervert, with the intent of reading it and reviewing it not long after. And yet, whenever I sat down and tried to put my thoughts into a comprehensible format, I ended up staring at a blank screen. Terror House Editor-at-Large (and my friend) Calvin Westra put it like this: “[Bronze Age Mindset] is a tough book to talk about [because] you either get it or you don’t, and explaining it to normies without ruining the magic of it is impossible.”

VIDEO: JONATHAN BOWDEN, FRAMING FROM THE MARGINS

Today is the birthday of Jonathan Bowden, one of the most potent thinkers and speakers of the radical right, who tragically died in 2012 at the age of 49. In this video from Black Gnosis, filmed in 2009, he holds forth on a wide range of topics, from inequality, race, and gender to religion, philosophy, and public speaking, fielding questions from members of the London New Right.

VANGUARD PODCAST (11): IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT

The eleventh of the Vanguard Podcasts, featuring the original "triumvirate" of Richard Spencer, Andy Nowicki, and Colin Liddell, looks back on 2012 and forward to 2013. Highlights include a tribute to Jonathan Bowden, favourite books and movies of 2012, and predictions for 2013.

FAILURE AT THE GATES OF VICTORY

COME HEIL OR HIGH WATER?

by Colin Liddell

Virtue and vice are not, as the Left supposes, determined by a line that divides humanity into "the Blessed" and "the Damned." That is a very Manichean, Judaic, and inherently non-European concept, which has, like some toxic chemical, been present in the moral bloodstream of our civilisation for too long, and with which Western Christianity has long struggled.

No, that simplistic view of good and evil creates a retarded morality that is unable to recognise the organic complexity of reality, and which thus cuts across it with a brutal and unforgiving blade. True virtue is, as Aristotle expounded, a Golden Mean between two unhealthy extremes. Between Cowardice and Rashness, lies the golden virtue of Courage. Between Humility and Vanity, Pride glitters in all its glory...

ALT-RIGHT ART

Once it's seen, it can't be unseen.
by Andy Nowicki

Left-liberal attitudes and habits of mind may at one time have been radical, provocative, and gutsy, but today they are staid, stale, conventional, and boring. Any honest contemporary cultural Marxist will have to admit that, politically speaking, his side now holds all significant power. Those who openly decline to subscribe to the ideological establishment's point of view on such matters as race, gender, and sexuality have in effect committed social suicide; having put themselves utterly at the mercy of the powers-that-be, such unfortunates have left themselves open to attack by legions of official Zeitgeist-enforcers and their numerous toadying minions.

"MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE" REVISITED – AN INTERVIEW WITH ALEX KURTAGIC

During our "unscheduled reorganization" back in December 2013, many of the old Alternative Right articles were archived to Radix Journal, but almost all the articles from 2013 were lost, including this interview with Alex Kurtagic by George Whale, which we now take great pleasure in restoring to our readers. At a conference in Washington DC in September 2011 writer, musician and artist Alex Kurtagic delivered a lecture entitled "Masters of the Universe," in which he argued that we must win the cultural war against the Left as a necessary prelude to real political change. The speech, full of original and provocative ideas, fascinated me and I determined to ask Mr Kurtagic for an interview so that I might explore some of his ideas further. Fortunately, he agreed.

SUPER-POP FASCISM vs SUPER-BLACK POWER

The Cultural Jihad

by Alex Fontana

There has been uproar in rightist circles – with some spillover into the mainstream media – over the transfiguration of pop culture characters of White identity to minority identity. There is certainly an agenda at work here, perhaps driven by the liberal proclivities of comic book creators, many of whom were and are Jewish, an agenda that interestingly rubs up against the "pop fascism" element in comic books sagaciously identified by Jonathan Bowden.

As leftist journalist Richard Cooper put it in an article entitled Superheroes are a Bunch of Fascists:
"The main problem is force: sheer physical force, which lies at the heart of the superhero myth…
I was reminded of this by Jor-El’s speech in Man of Steel: 'You will give the people an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders.'
How, though? Those watching him can’t fly, topple buildings or fire heat rays from their eyes. What else does Superman do other than these purely physical feats?"
Cooper misses the point completely in two regards. First, he assumes that violence is a characteristic of fascism and fascism only. Georges Sorel’s Reflections on Violence (1908) arguably inspired more left-wing violence than right-wing, and when it did inspire right-wing violence, through Benito Mussolini, it was his fluency with leftist discourse that precipitated it.

REVIEW: "WESTERN CIVILIZATION BITES BACK" BY JONATHAN BOWDEN

Western Civilization Bites Back

Some Whites on the mainstream right are obsessed with their own victimhood. They are always on the lookout for someone in the media making an anti-White remark or counting how many Blacks or Asians are in their IKEA catalogs. They say things like, “You know who the REAL racists are? It’s the [Insert favorite opponent here].”

This is the strategy of always looking over their shoulders, always being ready to be offended, and complaining about some other group affirming itself, while they are not “allowed to.” It is essentially the strategy of a minority playing the PC-game at the Oppression Olympics in an attempt to get the majority to feel pity for them. These whites are sulking like it's 2050 when it’s only 2014.

REVIEW: "MAD" BY JONATHAN BOWDEN

Whether you will enjoy Mad is contingent on how old you are and what you seek to get out of it.

If you’re a teenage Nietzschean, you’ll worship this book. If you masturbate to pictures of Ayn Rand, blare Burzum from your iPod speakers, and constantly whine about you’re being oppressed by the untermenschen (despite the fact that you still get an allowance from your parents), Jonathan Bowden’s word salad will be like catnip to you. Just don’t shoot up any schools after you’re done.

If you’re older, however, you might find Bowden’s book a little… wanting.

AN INTRODUCTION TO NATIONAL ANARCHISM

Tradition and Revolution

I first heard of Troy Southgate while browsing Jonathan Bowden's work in the British New Right back in 2009. Back then I only knew that he was some kind of musician and cultural figure. I never really had the chance to examine much of his work online, except for brief excerpts here and there, usually in relation with Bowden's work. It was only later on that I learned that Southgate was a National Anarchist, a topic which intrigued me for quite some time.

I have to admit that Anarchism is barely known in the Philippines. Classical Anarchism was briefly introduced to this country by Isabelo De Los Reyes, but never really became a major force in Philippine politics. There were Anarchist movements in other Asian countries, namely in Korea, Japan and China but these remained marginal movements which briefly existed at the turn of the 20th Century and faded away after the second world war.
