HOW THE LEFT IS SELF-DESTRUCTING BY HAVING ONLY NEGATIVE IDEAS, NOT PLANS

by Brett Stevens

The Left began with a simple idea: overthrow the natural hierarchy of humans by ability and let the mob rule instead of having leaders.

This pleased a great number of people, but also guaranteed perpetual infighting as groups and individuals vie for power.

THE ASIANIZATION OF THE WEST

Originally published at Radix in September 2016, soon after Hillary "Sempai" noticed us.

There is a spectre haunting the interwebs, it is the spectre of a laid back, occasionally Nazi-cosplaying green frog and his dead gorilla sidekick… And the establishment doesn’t quite know what to do about it.

But even the Alt-Right is not quite sure what Pepe is or even if he’ll stick around. Memes by their very nature are transient and ever changing and Pepe casts a nervous glance over his shoulder at the Mighty Harambe, who in turn casts a nervous glance over his shoulder at…who know what?

PODCAST 43: A MOST INTERESTING ELECTION

Colin and Andy are joined by self-confessed "Bernie Bro," Bay Area Guy, to discuss the most interesting US Presidential election in living memory. What are the deeper factors driving this political revolution? Can Trump and Bernie defeat their respective political establishments? Who is best for Millennials? And who is the true "chaos candidate"?

THE GAPS BETWEEN THE STARS: THE SEMANTICS OF "INTERSTELLAR"

The ever-popular astronaut and bookcase theme.

By now most of you will have seen Christopher Nolan's latest movie Interstellar, or decided not to bother, so spoiler alerts are no longer an issue. It is fairly well-written, ably-acted, and stylishly executed. There is plenty of interest and much provocation of thought, so I don't regret the money I spent to go and watch it.

But what is the message?

Is it, as some claim, a great invocation of the fucked-up Faustian spirit of European man? Is it a Nietzschen opus of man slaying his Last Man avatar and becoming his own Prometheus? Or is it simply "damn it all" escapism from the complex and daunting challenges we face here on Earth?

EQUALITY, EQUALITY EVERYWHERE, BUT NOT A DROP TO DRINK

Odaiba, Tokyo.

Recently I ventured on foot across the ominously named "Rainbow Bridge," which spans Tokyo Bay, to visit the artificially created land of Odaiba. When Tokyo holds the Olympics in 2020, this is the area that will host the athletes' village as well as many of the other facilities and venues.

I say ominously-named, because "rainbow," rather than pleasant associations of sunshine after rain or pots of gold left by leprechauns, now has more disturbing ideological connotations; whether it is the "Rainbow Nation" of South Africa, with its genocidal tendencies, or the rainbow flag used to promote the deconstruction of gender roles in the West and the promotion of mass, multi-partner buggery.

But while Japan keeps a tight watch on its borders – at least for now – the nation and its culture occasionally pay lip service to the globalized Western (ab)norms now symbolized by the borderless gradations of the chromatic spectrum.

A VERY ORDINARY GOD

"Look at me! I'm magnificent..."

by William Solniger

So: the Isla Vista killer, Elliot Rodger... In choosing to cast my hat into this already overcrowded ring, I am not particularly interested in refuting the feminists and other progressivists who are standing upon this tragedy to bloviate about “rape culture,” “misogyny,” and “white racism.” If – as the saying goes – wrestling with a pig in muck is an unwise endeavour even if you win, it is surely even more unwise to grapple with the end of the pig which produces flatulence, and all the more so in the knowledge that the strength, odour and direction of this flatulence will be the same whether the pig has digested an Hispanic neighbourhood-watchman or an Eurasian psychopath; instead, the only wise option is to keep a dignified and healthy distance from the pig-sty.

AS SOCIAL TRUST WANES, WE WEAKEN

by Henry Dampier

The West is in a crisis surrounding a general collapse in social trust. Rather than focusing too much on the macro political situation, I would rather explore the consequences of this at the personal level.

Unlike when my grandfathers were working, or when my father worked, it is common for employees to distrust their bosses and their co-workers. There is no sense that the company exists for the long term benefits of its stake-holders. At a far lower level of technology and gross profitability, employees even at the lower level could expect to advance their careers within the same corporation for their entire lives. My grandfather was not an executive — he was a simple accountant at General Electric — but his retirement package ultimately made him a multimillionaire. He lived modestly for most of his life, did not work long hours, and raised two children.

PLANET OF THE BITCHES

I’m going to tell you ladies something that will upset and anger you and cause you to call me all sorts of names, but you can’t deny the fact that it’s the truth.

If he wanted to, any man could rape and/or kill you and there’s nothing you could do, on your own, to stop him.

I don’t care if you work out every day and have a BMI in the normal range. He can overpower you because nature has endowed him with a bigger frame and superior musculature by the mere virtue of being born a man. Those women's self-defense classes you took at the community center? Completely worthless. I can defeat any "self-defense method" by simply uppercutting you in the jaw.
