MINDCRIME LIBERTY SHOW: WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE CHILDREN?

In this episode of the Mindcrime Liberty Show Swithun Dobson and Tim Patton discuss why people make people. Since the advent of effective birth control the creation of children can be divorced from the act that creates them. Before, if people had sex, children would most likely result "naturally" in the same way that breathing happens. Of course one could abstain, but that required a level of self control uncommon among most. Since child production in the developed World is now a willed choice and not merely natural instinct, why do people choose to do so? Is it tradition, a kind of hedonistic consumerism, a religious duty, or a political act to continue a group legacy and identity?  Also what explains the reasons people choose not to do so?

  1. Simply have sex especially if the woman is young and don't think about contraception is one way. Pretty wise at least in the current environment.

    1. Given how shitty the culture is I think breeding is irresponsible for most people. If you can't move to Singapore and homeschool you're probably going to produce even more tribal idiots.
Most women don't actually want many children. It's fine.
