AN OUTBREAK OF LARPing COULD DESTROY THE ALT RIGHT

The Alt Right has outlived every prediction by a credible source and continues to gain momentum. Essentially an updated European New Right that incorporates social conservatism and rejects the reliance on socialist-style government, the Alt Right forms a cultural wave that has successfully upended politics in the late stages of liberal democracy.

However, right now the Alt Right suffers for its success, because in becoming a voice with authority, it has attracted a wide range of people to that voice, including the type of angry losers who were in actual hate groups back in the day and the type of resentful and pointless internet fedora-toffing, neckbeard, basement dwelling NEETs that we all know from Reddit, which apparently infiltrated 4chan some time ago and took over large portions of it.

ARE WE RIGHT? (PART III)

This is the concluding part of a three-part article. Go to Part I. Go to Part II.

It is time to deliver on the promise of this essay – which is, of course, an answer to the great question contained in its title. Can our movement honestly lay claim to the Rightist tradition of the West, which in turn leads back to the roots of our civilisation? Or do we represent a shallow, transitory and chimerical reaction of older Leftist ideas, like nationalism, against newer ones like multiculturalism?

In short, can the Alt-Right really call itself the True Right?

PASSIVITY IS NOT AN OPTION

The political backlash by Western peoples against the ruling elite and the Left has met with nothing but defeat lately. First, Donald Trump decided to do some "artful dealing" by trading his populist and nationalist positions for acceptance by the corporate media and Deep State (and no, it hasn't worked). Then the French election showed us that a nationalist party with forty years of campaigning behind it, at a time of massive public discontent, could still lose to a hollow establishment-backed astroturf movement. Now we are seeing the people of Britain tone-policing each other even as they cower in fear of Muslim terrorists, while their political overlords have miraculously come up with yet another reason to stall for time on Brexit (not trying to be overly conspirational or anything, but...come on).

MICHEL HOUELLEBECQ, FOUNDER OF NEOREACTION

Michel Houellebecq: a boon to spellcheckers the world over.

by Brett Stevens

With Michel Houellebecq in the news for his novel, Submission, it makes sense to remember his roots. He has made his name writing about the tedium of modern life and fleeting glimpses of beauty, truth, and purity that tempt people from it. His usually tragic characters cannot realize that beauty because of their broken psychologies and neuroses.

Houellebecq burst onto the scene in 1997 with Whatever, a cynically humorous book — think Louis-Ferdinand Celine or William Burroughs — about the failure of modern life. The characters struggle through pointless and boring jobs, alienating sexual relationships and dysfunctional families, all while wandering through a 21st-century dystopian wasteland that is both beautiful in its ruin and crassly plastic in the assumptions through which most people survive.

TWO YEARS LATER

John Derbyshire - not as dotty as he seems.

by Gilbert Cavanaugh

Who would have ever guessed that John Derbyshire, a mild mannered Brit with a Chinese wife, and two kids by her, would become the face of white supremacy in the eyes of the left? Well, so it goes, and today marks the two-year anniversary of Mr. Derbyshire’s expulsion from the ranks of National Review, and polite society as a whole. Although it is seductive to commemorate this by providing a list of other thoughtcrime martyrs who have sprung up in the last twenty-four months, I propose something a bit more productive. Let us consider what has improved since “The Derb” so unjustly received his two minutes of hate two years ago, after all, our mothers were right when they told us, “God opens a window every time he shuts a door.”
