A concerted effort is currently being made by some cultural dissidents to expose the wide-ranging campaign undertaken by our betters to expunge all aspects of Christ from the holiday of Christmas, and what's more, to eradicate all aspects of Christmas from the gift-exchanging season of late December. In fact, this "war on Christmas" has been ranging for decades, epitomized in the numerous instances of newly renamed "holiday trees," corporate-mandated salutations of "happy holidays" or "season's greetings" instead of "merry Christmas," and forced removals of manger scenes from public places.

It is quite true, as Samuel Francis once pointed out, that the campaign against Christmas is a mere skirmish in the more widespread war against the West. Christmas is, after all, a Christian holy day, and Christianity is the spiritual foundation upon which Western civilization was built; hostility toward unabashed celebration of the birth of Christ does indeed spring from a hatred of all things Occidental. But it is a bit more complicated, and more bizarrely perverse, than that. For the war against the West is largely being waged by ... Westerners.

As America's elites have become increasingly detached from the core of the country, the oligopoly that has been running the state since the beginning has become increasingly reliant on "gaslighting" the public by mass media saturation and distortion.

After penning my essay “Trump and the Metapolitics of Winning” on Trump’s phenomenal rise, I thought I’d approach the subject from the opposite side and focus on the forces arrayed against him, in particular the extraordinary anti-Trump media frenzy that has been raging for the last two or three months as Trump’s ultimate victory draws ever nearer. I must say that I have never in my life seen such a negative campaign waged in the Western media like the one we have just witnessed against Donald Trump. The fact that he is the Republican Front Runner and a candidate well able to give the GOP a 4-to-8-year reign just makes it all the more remarkable!

Not even Saddam Hussein or Osama Bin Laden have had as much bad press as Trump has received in the last few months. It’s been so intense and the Washington elite’s panic has been so palpable that it’s clear that Trump is either the best Presidential candidate since JFK or is the Second Coming of Jesus Christ Himself! The vast cabal organising against him is clear proof that here is an outsider candidate par excellence – not only that but an outsider candidate who can win, unlike Bernie Sanders, who looks set to be outsmarted by establishment hawk Hillary. So, let’s have a "butcher’s hook" at what’s been going on.

STIHIE: ABORTION DRONES

The phrase "Death from above" has just taken on a whole new meaning, after it was announced that an abortion-facilitating NGO plans to use drones to deliver abortion pills to women in Poland who wish to "terminate their pregnancies" (Orwellian Newspeak for "murder their unborn children").

Motivated by its Catholic faith, Poland is one of the few White countries that still clings to reasonable restrictions on flushing embryonic human life down a toilet, a conservative position that the pro-abortion forces of the EU and the international West seem intent on chipping away at with every weapon in their arsenal. 

BABYKILLERS AND BASTARD FACTORIES

There are a couple female life patterns that feed contemporary leftism in the West: that of the babykiller and the bastard factory. The babykiller lifestyle tends to be for more up-market women, whereas the bastard factory lifestyle is for the poorer and usually (marginally) more religious demographic.

Babykillers, we’re all familiar with, perhaps intimately so. They get their first birth control prescription when they’re maybe around 14, perhaps a little older — whenever their parents start to become nervous about what their daughter is up to. The usual euphemism is that it’ll help her control her acne.

WHITE MEN VOTE REPUBLICAN BECAUSE THEY'RE SUCKERS

Amanda Marcotte recently wrote that “White men, as a group, vote Republican because they vote their resentments.”

The New York Times article she cited didn’t say or even imply anything about resentment. It did say that straight, working-class white men vote Republican because the Democratic Party has devoted the majority of its resources to appealing to women, gays and the various groups of less-white men who are nostalgically referred to as “minorities.” The Democratic Party has been on the opposite side of issues that working-class white men have cared about for decades, and according to the Times piece, many strategists within the party think it’s a waste of time trying to win them over.

Working-class white men vote Republican because the Democrats have made it clear that they care about representing the interests of everyone but working-class white men. These guys vote Republican because Republicans actually make an effort to tell them what they want to hear.

Basically, white men vote Republican because they’re suckers.

I started this book 99.5% sure violence had declined over time. I finished it 65% sure violence had declined over time and 100% sure that Steven Pinker needs a more aggressive editor.

Everyone liked this book, but it rubbed me the wrong way. It’s also really long.

Here’s a basic summary. The book covers six trends that reduce violence: 1) the move to “agricultural civilizations;” 2) the rise of central authorities that dominate significant territories; 3) the humanitarian revolution; 4) the “Long Peace” following WWII; 5) the decline in organized conflicts more broadly; 6) the growth of the human rights movement.

Five historical forces are added to these trends to complete the explanation of the declining violence: 1) the leviathan; 2) commerce; 3) feminization; 4) cosmopolitanism; and 5) the rise of reason.

Once he lays these ideas, we begin a very long (seriously, it’s really long) analysis of just how violent old civilizations were.

I’m going to cut the BS right here. If you want to read some analyses of the good points of the book and how smart Pinker is, you can find such analyses all over the internet. I’m just going to tell you what’s wrong with this book and Pinker’s thesis that violence has declined over time. The fact that I’m only focusing on the bad should not be taken to mean that I thought the book was all bad – it definitely has some good portions and some very solid arguments.

It is often remarked that Communism did the White race a major favour, helping to preserve it in its Eastern homelands, and that since its fall in 1989, those areas have become subjected to the same destructive tides of feminism, low-birth rates, and multiculturalism that have overwhelmed the West. At the same time we are supposed to be saddened that America has just returned an essentially Communist president. Is there not perhaps something of a paradox here?
