THE "CHAOS THEORY" OF TRUMPONOMICS

Breitbart is running a story praising Trump and attacking the media. The headline reads "The Stock Market Keeps Breaking New Records While Mainstream Media Focuses on ‘Chaos’."

"According to the analysis, [ABC, CBS, and NBC] mentioned the stock market, Wall Street, and the Dow Jones 33 times since President Trump’s inauguration, but rarely on the days in which historical milestones were achieved. The analysis revealed that the networks failed to report 25 of the financial milestones on the day on which they took place. During that period, the broadcast news programs only aired 19 positive stories about the stock market."

The point of the article is that the mainstream media is downplaying positives and hyping negatives in an attempt to cause chaos and sabotage the economy, but that despite this the Trump-led economy is advancing by leaps and bounds.

STAR WARS: THE DIVERSITY AWAKENS

Much has been said about the latest Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens. In Alt-Right circles this has tended to focus on a kind of unholy trinity of:

1. The malevolent Jewishness of J.J. Abrams
2. The malevolent casting of a Black actor in one of the two lead roles
3. The malevolent casting of a "kick-ass," "empowered" woman in the other lead

It is not difficult to "prove" any one of these points. Abrams is on record making negative comments about Whiteness and his desire to diversify the cast, and it is not difficult to spin these comments as maliciously anti-White or his casting as “anti-White” and “anti-male.”

Soccer and the Campaign for Anti-Racism

For most of those interested in it, the World Cup exists on two levels. First, there is the intense partisan connection that all supporters feel for their own national team—some of the deepest and occasionally darkest feelings known to man. Then there is the wider interest in the game—a more generous and objective love of the skills and stories generated by the competition, such as Germany's remarkable ability to destroy teams on the break, Diego Forlan's incredible shooting accuracy, Maradona's touchy- feely management style, and, of course, Paul the Octopus.

Typically the earlier stages of World Cups are experienced mainly on the first level, while in the latter stages—after most of the teams have been knocked out—supporters tend to broaden their appreciation and enjoy the game in a more general sense.

In my case, as the supporter of a country (Scotland) that failed even to qualify for the World Cup finals, my interest has been on the second level, except for a passing interest in seeing my country's traditional rival (England) knocked out—an aspiration that has thankfully come to pass.

SUB-RACISM

The Return of the Repressed

First of all, the dreaded R-word, "racism"! I am not going to spend this entire article shying away from it or going round it. Nor am I going to accept Leftist definitions of it; nor, for that matter, overly defensive Rightist interpretations. Stripped of its connotations and associations, I want it, for the purposes of this article, to simply mean the phenomenon of people consciously valuing and preferring their own race, rather than unconsciously. For this second possibility I have another word, "sub-racism" — the theme of this article.

Whether racial consciousness produces Auschwitzes or polite, well-managed immigration restrictions is entirely another matter. My own belief is that openly discussing race and our natural race-based feelings is the best way to avoid serious unpleasantness; while not to do so is more likely to cause such unpleasantness. Assuming that the Holocaust did in fact happen — I automatically refuse to accept any view of history that needs to be enforced by law — it seems possible that part of the savagery was driven by racial ambiguity, caused by the degree to which Jews in Germany had interwoven themselves in German society, while at the same time remaining a distinct group.
