Today Donald Trump arrives in the UK. Normally he is seen as a polarising figure—in British political parlance, a "Marmite politician" (named after a particularly pungent yeast spread)—you either love him or hate him.

But the funny thing is that in the UK he does not actually polarise very much. In fact, apart from a few LARPy UK Maga hats, almost everybody who has a voice seems to have a negative opinion of the man.

America formed as an organic nation of Western European pioneers, settlers, explorers, and inventors. We found a continent inhabited by savages, tried to make peace with them and then drove them away when they attacked, and built a great nation based on the idea that government would not exist for social engineering.

The level of analysis of the North Korean situation in America's corridors of power is laughable. Yes, literally.

Trump's recent comment about his button being bigger than Kim Jong-un’s "button" was ROFL tier and highlighted the general absurdity of the situation as it is perceived and projected in America. Then, following this Bond-villain slapstick, we saw the lumbering bulk of Trump and America deftly side-stepped by a mini-thaw in relations between the two Koreas, ironically brought on by the forthcoming Winter Olympics, with China and Russia looking on approvingly.

The real flaw with most of the analysis is simple. It views things purely from the American side of the windscreen, when the fact is the US Empire is no longer on the motorway—as it seems to think it is—but is in fact entering the metal scrapping yard, headed for the crusher. The real story here is that America is the object, not the subject, in the situation, and in ways that its ruling elites are clearly oblivious of.

So, who is really in the driving seat here?

America is a geopolitical idiot, a moron nation whose position as the world’s leading power has nothing to do with its meagre or non-existent merits. In fact, to be brutally honest, it’s a dysfunctional entity with a sub-standard population, and a leadership that would be better off wearing bells. In a just and fair world it would be about the size of Belgium and surrounded by a high wall.

Although this may sound like a bit of a rant, it’s pretty much what you would expect if you spent a few hundred years clearing all the rubbish out from Europe – religious fanatics, convicts, rootless sociopaths, mental cases, bottom-of-the-heapers, and other various outcasts and failures – and dumping them all in a big, empty continent with a liberal sprinkling of losing tribalists from Africa. Yes, America is exceptional, exceptionally crap, and the only reason it was able to become the world’s leading power was because the World’s truly great powers all cancelled each other out.

British journalist Milo Yiannopoulos frequently refers to Donald Trump as “daddy.”

Milo introduces himself as, “the most fabulous supervillain on the Internet,” so calling a Presidential candidate “daddy” is consistent with his own quirky brand of camp conservatism.

I don’t know of anyone else who calls Trump “daddy.” But when I see my peers caught up in stadium-style slave wave that is ready to crown a shifty, wheeling and dealing New York City businessman as America’s savior and “emperor god-king”…

…“daddy” does seem uncomfortably appropriate.

Americans are supposed to be energetic. After all, we “went from barbarism to decadence without civilization in between” because of our relentless drive for expansion and profit. The American caricature, so idolized and reviled throughout the world, is a loud creature with a fondness for action and a devotion to extolling the virtues of thinking big and making quick money. According to Louis Hartz, author of The Liberal Tradition in America, “irrational Lockeanism” is our prevailing credo, with both liberals and conservatives essentially agreeing on the soundness of liberal democracy and global capital. A good Cold War liberal, Hartz (and generations of leftists after him) believed that a genuine and unique American right did not and could not exist. The left has all the best ideas, after all.

An appropriate term for the Leftist is "The Rational Idiot." Leftists like to make a show of being data-driven beings who use reason to come to their opinions, but anyone who has ever encountered actual Leftists will know how absurd this sounds. For those with Leftist views, the pretence of reason can only be maintained by extreme cherry-picking of data, combined with the equally extreme blanking-out of any inconvenient data.

Like a cockroach in a dirty kitchen, the Leftist scuttles around in the dark, fearful of the moment when the lights are switched on. This is why Leftists invented the concept of "hate facts," an attempt to smear the light switch with moral faeces so that they could continue their benighted existence. A "hate fact," by the way, is simply a normal fact that breaks a Leftist narrative constructed on the basis of the minimum input of data, and as such the term has been embraced and counter-weaponized by the Alt-Right.

The American Republic was the greatest one ever. It was so because it developed a Tao. There was a complicated and necessary balance between the Libertarian and the Authoritarian. There was another equally important equipoise between the Classical Liberal and The Progressive. Each school of thought had its plusses and minuses. Through rigorous balance, the best was extracted from each and the crack-pot ideas of all were kicked remorselessly to the curb through an almost Darwinian perfection of the civic population. These four forces were famously described by Walter Russell Mead as Wilsonian, Jacksonian, Hamiltonian, and Jeffersonian.

While the mapping isn’t perfect (Walter Russell Mead was writing foreign policy commentary when he developed the taxonomy), it’s not too abusive a stretch to map Wilsonians to Progressives, Jacksonians to Classical Liberals, Hamiltonians to Authoritarians and Jeffersonians to Civil Libertarians. Banish one of these four vectors to the outer darkness and you get a disturbance in the force…

THE "TRAITOR" TROPE

Unlike some others in my ideological vicinity, I have very little use for the internet practice of "trolling." Aging Gen-X fuddy-duddy fogey that I am, I find the practice of intentionally trying to get under others' skin for kicks to be a generally obnoxious and contemptible pastime.

I say this in full awareness that some online personalities are enormously irritating, just begging to be trolled the same way that certain smug faces simply cry out to be slapped. And to be sure,  I have occasionally indulged in some schadenfreude-laden private cackles when a nasty and sanctimonious commentator gets tricked into making an ass of himself thanks to the expert machinations of  a properly placed merry prankster. But generally, trolling seems juvenile and cheap, akin to schoolyard taunting, a symptom of small-mindedness and general jerky douchery.

INDEPENDENCE DAY IN THE AMNESIAC STATES OF AMERICA

As we have seen in recent days, history is a major issue in the modern United States, rather as it was in the Soviet Union, where it was frequently "airbrushed" and rewritten. 

The history of the Confederacy has been under attack because it shines a spotlight on the nation's irreconcilable racial fracture. But even the history of America's origins in the War of Independence is extremely problematic. This is because it can't but emphasize how White, WASP, male, cisgenderist, and non-gender-fluid the Founding Fathers were. This effectively de-Americanizes most of the population of the state, while also legitimizing that awkward barrier to Leftist utopia, the US Constitution.

So, what is the solution? Namely, the displacement by the media and education system of this patriotic history of America, and its replacement by a twisted, "politically correct" simulacrum, made up of gender studies, the Holocaust, and "Black History" months, forgettable in itself but also serving to induce a wider amnesia.

PODCAST 31: RAINBOWS OVER DIXIE

A week is a long time in politics, and the last one has been one of the longest and strangest in US history. One culture war ended with the sudden imposition of gay marriage by the Supreme Court, while another began. The facts about Dylann "Storm(front)" Roof speak for themselves:

At twenty-one years old, introverted, withdrawn, a loner and a drug user, looking like an emaciated Macaulay Culkin, Roof had exhibited deviant social behaviour and was twice arrested, once for trespassing and once for a drug charge (Buprenorphine was the drug listed in some accounts). Roof came from a broken family; he was unemployed, and probably from a low-socioeconomic background. He seemed to lack a proper support network and social circle – which caused him to feel isolated, hopeless, lonely, frustrated, and daunted by an uncertain future.

From the testimony of friends and survivors of his homicidal "lashing out" at an AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, and from other sources of information – including photographs of him wearing apartheid era patches – Roof apparently espoused ‘white supremacist ideology.’ Reportedly he told one of the survivors, “I have to do it. You rape our women and you’re taking over the country.”

Fat Shaming vs. Fat Acceptance

Roosh V recently made his appearance on The Dr. Oz Show, a TV doctor who got his big break on the The Oprah Winfrey Show. Oz's whole schtick is to peddle non-scientific or pseudo-scientific feel-good health Pollyannas, aimed at the kind of woman who pays undue attention to her horoscope.

For Roosh appearing on the show was a win-win, even though Oz had invited him on to reveal how "evil" he was and to signal to his audience, disproportionately made up of tubby women, how much he believed in defending their "inner beauty" (presumably kept tucked up tight somewhere between their feminist bile duct and intestinal sac of fart gas).

WHITE PEOPLE ALWAYS WERE A MINORITY...SO WHAT?

The HuffPost is apparently cock-a-hoop about the fact that mass immigration and falling birthrates seem set to reduce Whites to a minority in the USA within a few decades. They also think it is a good laugh, coming out with a video entitled "So, You're About to Become a Minority." This is framed as a pretend public information film aimed at educating Whites about how to adjust to their future status. The video's message can be broken down into (a) Whites have treated minorities unfairly in the past, (b) the boot will soon be on the other foot, and (c) ha ha ha ha!
