A PRAYER FOR WAR (REDUX)

by Daniel Barge

It's often said that war brings out the best and worst in people. Now, as the Syrian crisis flares up on President Trump's Twitter and the media, there is tough talk aplenty. We may even see ships being moved into position, or hear the distant roar of aircraft being moved from base to base.

Inevitably there are those who say war never solved anything (not quite true) and that what is needed is a political solution. But, then, this is countered with the idea that talk is cheap and that there is only one language certain people [fill in blank] understand.

NO WAR IN SYRIA....IT'S OFFICIAL (MAYBE)

Unfairly banned from his YouTube page but still mind-jamming the internet from his back-up page, Andy Nowicki considers the (im)possibility of real war in Syria from the bottom of an extremely deep well of public cynicism.

DUMB AND DUMA: THE FEELPOLITIK EMPIRE

Hot on the heels of the poisoning of the ex-British spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter in Salisbury (just miles down the road from the UK's massive chemical weapons lab at Porton Down), it seems that the Russians have been at it again, this time in Syria. At least according to the mutually amplifying mouthpieces of the Western media.

WHEN EMPIRES DIE...

Adults discussing geopolitics.
by Duns Scotus

Countries that are good at war are good at peace. Unfortunately America has been adept at neither, and its fleeting elevation to global hegemon status was mainly due to unusually good luck and the fact that its main rivals all cancelled each other out for a convenient period.

IS IRAN PLANNING TO STRIKE THE U.S. IN SYRIA?

The best way to end U.S. intervention
is to increase the body count.

On Sunday, Iran launched a long-range missile strike on ISIS forces in Al Mayadin, now believed to be the Islamist group’s new capital. Iran claimed the attack was in retaliation for the ISIS terrorist attacks in Tehran earlier this month, attacks that it also indirectly blames on the U.S.

NO FOLLOW UP STRIKES AGAINST ASSAD: NORTH KOREA MAIN FOCUS FOR TRUMP

Korearing to war?

It's been a week now since Trump launched 59 cruise missiles against a Syrian air base in supposed retaliation for an alleged and unproven chemical attack on a town well behind the front line.

So, what exactly is going on?

It seems, at present, that this was a one-off strike and that Trump is in fact continuing the status quo that existed before the attack, whereby Russia supported the Assad government in fighting against Islamist rebels, while the US supported the SDF in its efforts against ISIS.

IF THE NEOCONS ARE WRONG, WHY ARE THE RUSSIANS ACTING AS IF THEY ARE RIGHT?

Trump struck Syria, and the Alt Right lost its mind. They had hoped that Trump would go farther to the Alt Right, when in fact he has always been a moderate who likes cultivating opposites under his roof so he can pick the right decision on a case-by-case basis. Key fact: the man still believes in democracy and diversity. He is step one of a hundred back toward health.

By the same token, it is foolish to describe this as a strike on Syria when it was actually a warning to Russia. Trump blew up a few older planes at an airfield where Russian personnel had been present. He gave the Syrians time to remove all equipment and people they cared about. He warned the Russians in advance. This was not a military strike, but a signal to Putin: go no further.

SHORTPOD (6): TRUMP, YOU CANNOT BE SYRIAOUS

A brief podcast by Alternative Right chief editor Colin Liddell, reporting on the site and events in the news. This time the focus is on Trump's decision to attack Syria and reopen the question of regime change.

BRITAIN STRIPS JIHADIST OF PASSPORT DESPITE SUPPLYING WEAPONS TO HIS ISLAMIST GROUP IN SYRIA

The youngest son of Abu Hamza has been stripped of his British passport after travelling to Syria to fight with jihadists. The Home Office has withdrawn the passport of Sufiyan Mustafa, 22, leaving him effectively stateless and stranded in Syria.

His Egyptian father, now 58, is currently in jail in the US after being convicted of a series of terrorism offences and has been serving his sentence in solitary confinement at a high security jail in Florence, Colorado.

HOW SYRIA CAN WIN ITS WAR WITH AMERICA

Assad points to where the war is heading.

It's happened. Trump has done the unforgivable and gone to war with Syria. There seems to be a lot of anger and sheer disappointment in the Alt-Right about this. But the Alt-Right is nothing if not "dialectical," i.e. able to step back, appreciate the multifaceted ironies of the situation, and look at the bigger picture, and the bigger picture here would be the chance this incident opens up to inflict a defeat not on Trump or America—although that might also be involved—but on the whole mythic apparatus of American interventionism and thus globalism.

The first irony that stands out is that Trump/ America/ the Cult of Interventionism is using this action to "look strong," when in fact it was the act of a weakling and coward.

THE REAL REASON TRUMP BOMBED SYRIA: NOT DEAD KIDDIES

Many are wondering about the surprising change in US-policy that has occurred in Syria. This is supposedly due to an alleged gas attack by Syrian national forces against a rebel-held town.

This is a childishly simple theory, especially as there is at least a lot of doubt about who is responsible for the attack, and a gas attack can add little to the horrors already under way in Syria.

A more feasible explanation is that the US is changing its position to adjust to the changing military situation on the ground.

THE GAS CLOUD OF WESTERN INTERVENTION

Originally published at The Occidental Observer four years ago, during the last attempt to sell a Neocon War in Syria.

“Gas! Gas! Gas! Nasty, wicked pois’nous gasssssssssss!!!!!!!”

There! Is your knee jerking yet? Have you started to salivate and get sweaty palmed, and developed the requisite insatiable craving for moralistic war against the media-designated demons responsible for such unbelievable, unique, and unprecedented evil?

No? Then, your conditioning will have to be continued, the voltage upped, so that, whenever necessary, your leaders and betters will be able to sell you another ugly little war in which the mighty, hollow West can bomb some destabilized little patch of naturally-occurring chaos or tyranny back into tyranny or chaos again.

THE PROBLEM AS SOLUTION

The sight of blood is a well-known economic driver

 Berlin and the "Quantum Economics"
of a Semi-Islamized Europe

by Colin Liddell

After each terrorist outrage, like the recent Muslim twist on German Xmas, we see the usual social, cultural, and political repair mechanisms kick in. The Establishment is the Management, and the Management think they can manage things. After all, they have all the resources, from the mass media and the financial system to the security and surveillance services, at their command. All they seem to lack is a coherent view of how the World works and what's round the next few corners. Their guiding principle seems to be The Blind Leading the Blind. But is it?

Right now, the media is doing its job of muddying the waters with its various narratives and talking points; steam is being released, pressures dissipated. The whole lovely mess is being framed in a hegemonic holding pattern of tolerance and atomized NAXALT individualism. After all Xmas is all about "Love" isn't it, and we wouldn't want to return to the dark old days of the 1930s, would we? Go on, light another candle, put it next to a flower, and say an atheistic little prayer to go with your mindless thought. You'll feel better for it.

VIDEO: ELECTORAL AFTERMATH

Right now, with all eyes focused on the electoral dogfight between Trump and Hillary, less thought is being given to the likely outcomes of each candidate's victories. Alternative Right Chief Editor Colin Liddell considers how each scenario could play out, and which candidate would move things most in the direction of the Alt-Right and the more fundamental changes we believe in.

VIDEO: TRUMP, HILLARY, AND PUTIN—THE GEOPOLITICS OF THE U.S. ELECTION

Alternative Right Chief Editor, Colin Liddell, on the economic and geopolitical factors behind Trump and Hillary, and how the latter's globalist agenda could lead to a serious clash with Russia, which has its own agenda in the Middle East.

BRUSSELS AND THE QUANTUM MECHANICS OF THE NEW DIVIDED EUROPE

Brussels: energy from atomization.
by Colin Liddell

The Establishment is the Management, and the Management think they can manage things. After all, they have plenty of resources at their command, from the mass media and the financial system to the security services. All they lack really is a coherent view of how the World works and what's round the corner, as their guiding principle has always been The Blind Leading the Blind.

So, how are things working out?

Brussels, which came a few months – or was it weeks? – after Paris was pretty bad. We can expect tourist numbers to dip for a while. But the Management is not overly concerned.

PODCAST 38: 2015, YEAR OF THE UNCUCKED (WITH KEVIN MacDONALD)

Professor Kevin MacDonald joins Andy and Colin to take a look back at the dramatic events of 2015, a year which saw Syria fall deeper into chaos, the "Muslimmivasion" of Europe by so-called "refugees," horrific terrorist attacks in Paris and California, and a fightback of sorts by Eastern European governments, the Front National in France, and most spectacularly of all by the rise of Donald Trump in the GOP primaries.

QUIETLY SIDLE AWAY FROM TURKEY, FOLKS

The good thing about using proxies is that when things f**k up, you can throw then to the dogs and pretend you never knew them. That is more or less the correct attitude to have towards Turkey at the moment, after the hair-trigger shooting down of a Russian aircraft after it zipped into a tiny sliver of Turkish airspace for a few seconds.

A few facts:

According to the Turks, the Russian plane crossed 1.7 miles of Turkish territory before it was shot down. That would have taken a few seconds for a supersonic Russian jet, giving the lie to the other part of the Turkish story that they had repeatedly warned the Russian plane about intruding into their airspace.

PUTIN READING ALT-RIGHT?

Boots on the ground.

Back in December 2014, Alternative Right published The Failure of Putin, an article that criticized the polices of Putin's Russia from a strategic point of view. The main criticism was that Putin, by concentrating on slivers of the Ukrainian border and neglecting the opportunities offered by America's essentially fragile Middle Eastern position was playing a poor game of judo, effectively pushing the twin pillars of a naturally divergent post-Cold-War West together, and thus ensuring Russia's continued inferiority. As I wrote at the time:
"As a judo aficionado, Putin should realize that if you push directly at a larger opponent, you are more likely to help him keep his balance than throw him off it. In effect, this is what Putin has been doing with the West."

MERKEL, CAMERON, AND THE EUROPEAN COMPASSION MARKET

In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king, and, right now, with the migrant hordes battering at the unhinged doors of Europe – while being fed and watered for their trouble – it is quite easy to stand head and shoulders above the low level of Europe’s leaders. Especially the childless Angela Merkel, whose brain seems to have been strangled in her skull by a late, misplaced, post-menopausal mothering instinct, which has imprinted on the feral, squealing hordes of Third World welfare shoppers, pushing towards Germany.

In the crumbling of Europe’s puny defences, there have been some bright spots, such as the Czech refusal to take non-Christians, along with similar noises from the Poles and other Slavs. Viktor Obran in Hungary has also put up some token resistance, but obviously not enough. The Hungarian police have never looked more pathetic than they have in the face of the migrants, egged on by the bleeding-heart international media. The invaders have ignored them and gone round them, only stopping to pick up free bottles of mineral water and snacks to sustain them in their campaign of continued disobedience. But, then again, it is not Hungary and the Slavic states that the migrants are interested in. It is affluent North European countries, like Germany, Holland, the UK, and those in Scandinavia.
