Now the face of the Alt-Right. |
When Alex Fields recklessly drove his car into a crowd of Leftists in Charlottesville last year, he was in all likelihood guilty of neglect and maybe of manslaughter. What he was not guilty of was murder, a very specific crime that requires a strong degree of premeditation. However, the Left, which controls both the town of Charlottesville and the media which is framing this trial, needs Fields to be guilty of murder. Nothing less will do.
If it is only manslaughter, that would point to chaos, and chaos would point to those guilty of creating the chaos, namely the local, politically-controlled police, state guards, and the antifa, who were clearly given a green light to attack that day.
Murder requires malice aforethought and premeditation evokes prejudice, and this is exactly what the Left want to append to the Alt-Right and the other Dissident Rightists who were there that day, participating in what was more a demonstration of naive faith in the American system of "free speech and protest" than anything else.
Getting a murder conviction in this case has two big payoffs for the Left: it lets them off the hook and it places their opponents on it. Quite simply they need Fields to be guilty of murder. And, as usual, they are going after what they want the same way they go after everything else, by ignoring facts and truth, and instead going for feels and manipulation.
This explains what you hear in the reporting of the case, all those trivialities such as the fact that Fields once reposted a meme of car crashing into people. Back when #BLM were blocking highways, I remember those being quite common, especially among conservative types.
Or what about the ever so important fact that he called Heather Heyer's mother a "communist," "anti-white supremacist," and "the enemy" in a call to his mother from prison. Also, how interesting that the call was taped. Is that a courtesy extended to every prisoner, one wonders.
In theory, to get a murder conviction, you should need to prove intent before the crime not after it. Even if that phone call to his mother had come before the incident it would not prove anything besides dislike of Heather Heyer's mother and a rationale for it.
Then there are snippets like this from a recent newspaper report:
The same report has some even more damning "evidence":
To anyone familiar with the 4chan/Stormerist/TRS side of the then Alt-Right, such behaviour is proof of nothing beside swimming in those waters. The saddest and funniest part is that he sent it to his own Mom. This guy is not some hardened Romper Stomper Neo-Nazi type, just a pathetic kid acting up to impress his possibly Jewish mom.
Unless the jury includes a few remarkable individuals able to think clearly and resist emotional blandishments like this, it is quite clear that the Left is going to get what they want here—a conviction for "murder" and the association of the Alt-Right with murder.
This is both bad and good, because the fact is that this kind of thing was always likely to happen with the kind of poor leadership that the Alt-Right started to display from 2015 onwards, when the Anglin/TRS tendency became dominant, as the likes of Richard Spencer and Greg Johnson fell over themselves like embarrassing boomers desperate to be associated with the "kool kids" and piss away the gains of the Alt-Right. Blowback like this, however, might just provide the discipline and tactical sense externally that the movement lacked internally.
Another upside of the Fields case is that things could have been a lot worse, say, with someone opening up on antifa, police, and assembled bystanders with an assault rifle. That was probably the plan, but instead all the Left/Deep State got was a panicky fat kid in a car causing an even more panicky and fatter SJW to have a heart attack and die.
As a final note, bear this in mind. The place where White identitarianism is doing reasonably well is in Europe. One reason is because Europe lacks the freedom to offend that Americans enjoy. This means that nationalism there makes damn sure that it isn't tainted by Hitler crap.
This has two benefits: (1) it stops it becoming toxic to normies, y'know the kind of people who are in that jury right now weighing up Field's fate and who also occasionally decide elections, and (2) it starves Feds, infiltrators, and disruption agents, as their main tactic is always to take any nationalist movement they infest and push it in the most extreme and unpalatable direction possible. This often involves the kind of poison we see in sites like the Daily Stormer and TRS, and in various online communities and comment boards.
The way out of this mess for the Dissident Right is to recognize the structural failings of the Alt-Right and to ditch that failed paradigm for something more evolved. Round here we call that the Affirmative Right.

It comes as two witnesses in the trial said that Fields showed no remorse prior to slamming into the protesters and killing Heyer.Yes, you read that right. He showed no remorse before the alleged crime. This shows you that the Left is just hoping to pile it high enough to gaslight the jury.
Sarah Bolstad and Hayden Calhoun were with Fields just 30 minutes before the 2017 rally and said that he had appeared calm and made plans to meet with a friend for lunch...
The same report has some even more damning "evidence":
Jurors were also shown a text message sent by Fields that included an image of Adolf Hitler. Fields sent the text to his mother days before the 2017 rally. It was a response to his mother’s plea to be careful. Fields wrote: “we’re not the one (sic) who need to be careful,” accompanied by Hitler’s image.Wow, that's basically "game over"—some Alt-Right kid in 2017 used a half-assed Hitler meme!
