Judith Miller, the New York Times “journalist” who passed off false Israeli propaganda about Iraq’s “WMDs” to start the war against Iraq, was one of the recipients of the “anthrax letters” – but the anthrax in her letter was fake, thus she was never in any real danger.
The anthrax sent to others, including public officials, media figures, and, interestingly, the headquarters of the National Enquirer at American Media, Inc. – Donald Trump’s good friends and later political supporters – was not fake.
Interestingly, a company associated with the mayor of NYC, Rudy Guiliani, immediately took physical control of the AMI office, to “disinfect” it.
22 people developed anthrax infections.
The FBI eventually claimed the anthrax was sent by Bruce Ivins, a biodefense researcher working at “the government’s bio defense labs at Fort Detrick.”
That means that “the official story” is that the 2001 Anthrax attacks were “an inside job.”

Of course the story is a lot more interesting and not everyone believes the FBI’s claim.
