IS AMERICA NOW A ONE-PARTY STATE?

Here at Democracy NOW! we make the case that modern democracy in the West is, especially in the "two party" Anglophone countries, essentially fake. This is because people can't vote their true choices. Only a multiparty democracy with a voting system that does not punish small parties is capable of being democratic, and only then when donor money and the media is prevented from exerting a malign influence.

However, that aside, a two-party democracy of the kind that subsists in America and Britain still offers some choice, although not much. 

The pre-Trump, steady-state GOP is not really that different from the Dems, while Britain appears to have two Labour parties at the moment. Thanks to Trump, a small "choice gap" has opened up between the Dems and GOP, but, as we have seen, there has been enormous pressures to push both parties back together and then towards a greater mixture of Cultural Leftism and Corporate Centrism that very few voters directly want.

The most obvious case of these pressures at the moment is the blatant attempt to rob Trump of his election victory that is now underway. 

We have seen all sorts of smoking guns all over the place, but mainly in the Dem-dominated Rustbelt states, where Trump made inroads last time. These states are already one-party states (made up of domineering Democrats and passive Republicans), and the plan is to roll that out to the rest of the USA by crushing Trump and then forcing the GOP to trail along in the hegemonic wake of the Dems, who, as you know, are already supported by the mainstream media (Tucker Carlson excepted), Big Tech, Hollywood, academia, and much of corporate America.

The methods they are using to achieve this goal in this election have included illegal ballot-harvesting and "assisted" mail voting illegally paid for by the likes of Mark Zuckerberg and his Chinese wife among others, restrictions on in-person voting applied disproportionately to Republican areas, and of course more blatantly criminal procedures like stuffing boxes with forged ballots (often featuring the names of dead people) or simply dumping or "miscounting" GOP votes. We have seen odd curves and mathematically impossible turnouts.

The most remarkable point however is that even with all that on their side they still haven't managed to floor Donald Trump. 

It is now 2 days after the election and "the Fix" is still not managing to fix. 

Outside of the Dem-dominated Rust-belt and perma-Blue cities, the Dems have to tread cheat more softly. Trump could still pull it off and defeat what is essentially a Color Revolution on America's own soil. If he does, America will remain a vast and diverse country, divided along numerous fault lines, but which has only two political choices. If he does not, then America will have reverted to a one-party state with two wings that put on occasional puppet shows for the distraction of the vast mass of the unrepresented.
