POEM: NEVER OVER - A RONDEAU REDOUBLE FOR KAI MURROS

It’s not over; it’s never over. We
Can be neither beaten or defeated
Unless we concede that we are to be.
And we shall not let that be conceded—

Nothing has fallen away, we've succeeded
In holding onto what is most holy
And protecting it, unimpeded.
It’s not over; it’s never over. We

Know how to preserve ourselves, keeping free
And pure no matter how defiled, depleted
And degraded the world has grown. Esprit
Can be neither beaten or defeated

Its black flame burns within the soul, heated
By faith which never can be completely
Extinguished and cannot be unheeded
Unless we concede that we are to be.

Our path is still long, the way is lonely
Yet we proceed as others proceeded.
We were not conquered, ultimately
And we shall not let that be conceded.

Our black sun shines forth, its rays repeated
Over and over through our worlds. We'll see
Its light grow while darkness has receded,
Driven back by force of will, ceaselessly.

The form for this poem, the rondeau redouble, was chosen for two reasons—first, because I sense our folk spirit itself is redoubled, every day we grow in vision and in strength. Second it is a form that is difficult, but not impossible...and that is where we find ourselves these days—facing the difficult but not the impossible. Our side of history is coming to be seen as the correct side, little by little, person by person, as more and more of the massive rot which constitutes the ironically named "right side of history" is raked up and revealed for what it is, ever was and ever will be. Soon the tide turns, soon that shoe drops, soon the balance tips—our race doesn't stay down for the count, no matter how dazed our folks seem to our opponents. We’ll get up. We always get back up. It is happening. To those of my folk reading this—take heart! Be ready! And thank you.
