JO COX AND THE WEAPONISATION OF VIOLENCE

Yes, there is such a thing as
weaponised violence.
by Colin Liddell

It's the third anniversary of the killing of Jo Cox. I remember it well, as it occurred in the run up to the Brexit vote and made many in the then Alt-Right suck hard on the Black Pill. I, however, remained more sanguine and continued—correctly—to predict a Brexit victory.

I also remember it because I was a member of the secret TRS secret Facebook group at the time, and Cox's unfortunate name—actually that of her unfaithful husband—was a source of much simple-minded amusement to (((Mike Enoch))) and his beta followers: "Cocks" geddit?

BTW, there in a nutshell you have the two reasons why the Alt-Right became the shitshow it became—its domination by navel-gazing negativity and tasteless, low-brow trollishness.

The killing of Jo Cox was also remarkable as being something of an outlier—an actual victim of terrorist violence in the UK who wasn't a Muslim (or IRA terrorist). Like White-on-Black stabbing victim Stephen Lawrence, her rarity value was—and still is—through the roof.

This is the reason we have tweets like this from Labour Party leader (and broken clock on Iran) Jeremy Corbyn:

And also this from Caroline Lucas, the leader of Britain's loathsome Green Party:

While Corbyn's tweet, which also goes on to mention a number of terrorist attacks carried out by Muslims plus one by a disgruntled Welshman, is clearly using the attack to "offset" the "terrorist footprint"—as opposed to the carbon footprint—of Muslims, Lucas is presenting the killing as an example of "White nationalist evil," and airbrushing all other acts of politically, racially, and ideologically motivated violence out of the picture.

But was Jo Cox even a victim of "nationalist hatred," as the Left claims, as this was the message that the British masses were bombarded with in the couple of days between the murder and the all-important Brexit vote?

The fact is that Cox's killer Scotsman Thomas Mair had an actual long history of mental illness preceding the act, which was dismissed or glossed over at his subsequent trial, where he was declared sane "in the moment of the crime." The judge even ruled that the details of his health records were inadmissible.

How very, very convenient!

This is the exact opposite of what happens in cases of Islamic terrorism when "mental illness" is used as a post-hoc fudge for people who had no previous history of mental illness, merely to dissociate the violence from the Islam.

Naturally, the early facts that surfaced about Mair's history of mental illness have been memory holed by our repressive Orwellian culture, but here is an extract from a now little-read article in the Irish Times that took a more open-minded view of Mair at the time:
Mair volunteered at Oakwell Hall country park in Birstall in 2010 after being a patient of the Mirfield-based Pathways Day Centre for adults with mental illness, according to a Huddersfield Examiner report at the time.

He told the paper: “I can honestly say it has done me more good than all the psychotherapy and medication in the world.

“Many people who suffer from mental illness are socially isolated and disconnected from society, feelings of worthlessness are also common, mainly caused by long-term unemployment.”

Ms Peters said Mair never talked about race or politics, adding: “I asked him once what his hobbies were and other than his gardening he said, ‘Well I go on the computer and I watch the television’.” ...

Ms Peters said: “He’s never been racist, never heard a racist comment.

“A more mild-mannered man you couldn’t wish to meet.
Wow, pretty revealing! I guess the Irish Times was a little slow getting the memo to downplay Mair's mental issues.

Then there is this article from ITV:
Thomas Mair visited an alternative therapist to arrange healing for anxiety and stress the night before he murdered MP Jo Cox, ITV News can reveal.

...Mair visited the Birstall Wellbeing Centre in his home town on the evening of June 15 to ask for advice on how to control his mental health.

Centre manager Rebecca Walker told how Mair arranged to return the next day for further talks after hearing the range of alternative therapy treatments offered by the centre.

But instead he carried out his plan to murder Labour MP Jo in the street as she arrived for a constituency surgery at the local library.
Yes, I'm not sure if that's just bad writing or editing, but the article seems to be implying that he killed the Labour MP as a form of "alternative therapy," which really depoliticises it.

One thing is clear from this: Mair's mental illness was front and centre in his actions that day.

Also, while "evidence" of Mair's right-wing opinions has also been produced, this is mainly in a form that it would be easy to fabricate. Back to the Irish Times:
Mair was named in a 2006 edition of the Springbok Cyber Newsletter, which is produced by the hard-right Springbok Club, an organisation which has called for a return to apartheid-style government in South Africa.
Thanks SPLC! The people who actually knew him paint quite a different picture:
Murder suspect Tommy Mair helped Asian people with their English language skills and never spoke about politics or race, family and neighbours said today.

Mair (52), who is being questioned by detectives over the murder of MP Jo Cox, is alleged to have shouted “Britain first” during the fatal incident.

But Scott Mair (50), said his brother had a “history of mental illness, but he has had help”.

Mair’s mixed-race half-brother, Duane St Louis, also told reporters he had never expressed any views about Britain, politics or racist tendencies.

Neighbour Diana Peters said: “I’ve known him since he was eight years old.

“Almost daily we chatted. We never spoke about politics.

“He told me he was doing English as a second language to the Asian community in Dewsbury.

“That’s what he told me, as far as I’m aware that was right, three days a week.

“He was a man of routine, he had certain days, as far as I was aware he had three days or part days doing the teaching, he did gardens for locals, he did the garden for a councillor who lived round the corner.

“He did gardening for neighbours. You couldn’t ask for a more pleasant neighbour. I never ever saw him lose his temper.
The full picture that emerges is of a mentally disabled man who was interacting with his community in a way that would normally be praised by anyone on the Left, right up until that fatal moment when Jo Cox was killed. Yet, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn attempts to dehumanise him by calling him a "far right extremist." Then Caroline Lucas tries to take some of that manufactured inhumanity to smear on her mainstream political opponents whose views happen to diverge from her own. Both politicians, in their sick lust to weaponise the unfortunate violence that occurred that day, slip into outright disablist bigotry.

In fact the more you look at the case of Thomas Mair the less it makes sense, which is why Daniel Barge's contention that this has all the hallmarks of a Manchurian Candidate-style operation cannot be dismissed out of hand:
Britain's Dylann Roof?
Mair, as someone who has undergone various forms of mind-altering treatments for mental problems, is also exactly the kind of individual who would be susceptible to being brainwashed to act as a Manchurian candidate.

With his house and online record now in the hands of the anti-terrorist police and special branch, it should be easy to "find" additional evidence that he was radicalized by British nationalism and/or the Brexit campaign, as required. In fact, if such evidence is produced, it would be a major pointer to the fact that this was in fact a false flag attack designed to sway the result of the referendum.
One thing is sure, presenting Jo Cox's murder as an example of nationalist violence is far stretch, and now that we have better examples, thanks to the idiots in the Alt-Right, I suspect that Jo Cox will also ultimately be memory holed along with her killer.
