No overwhelmingly, but in the first politburo 3 out of 7 members were Jews (Bornstein = Trotzky, Rosenfeld = Kamenev, Apfelbaum = Zinoviev), while Lenin himself was a fourth Jewish. That by far outstripped the Jewish share of the population in the Russian empire, perhaps by the factor of 40 or 50.
ReplyDeleteActually Lenin was Swedish...or at least as Swedish as he was Jewish - 1/8th. Kamenev's mother was Russian. So, 2 and a half out of 7, and that was at its height.
