Affirmative Right Editor Colin Liddell focuses on the recent council elections in the UK and the vote for the Northern Ireland Assembly to explain how British politics works. 

While the Westminster parliament uses a first-past-the-post system to create relatively strong UK national governments,  the Scottish, Welsh, and Northern Irish regional parliaments have all been designed to fail through systems of proportional representation that make it extremely hard for any one party to get an effective majority. But do the effects of promoting multiparty confusion on the Celtic fringe have any other adverse effects?
