PAUSED DUE TO THE VIDEO BEING MADE PRIVATE DUE TO TWO STRIKES
Like many naïve people in the Alt-Right, Millennial Woes was strongly drawn into the Nazi signalling that overtook the movement in 2015 to 2016. Now, Woes would have you believe that this was just a short-lived blip of irony mainly carried mainly out to explore the parameters of "muh free speech." That is certainly the view he expressed in a recent livestream. But the truth is he seems to have genuinely held the belief that "Jews are to blame" for the ills of the West (low fertility, mass immigration). Nor was it just a blip. As this video shows, he was still posting Nazi content to his followers 3 years after the date he claimed in the recent livestream.
I don't think Woes was any big Nazi, more a follower who started hanging around more extreme people. Woes is a good example of cultural "reversion to the mean". Any cultural movement, no matter how extreme, will always have flabby, derivative, mediocre latecomers. He's a bit like the Pennywise, Jeff Koons or Five Finger Death Punch of the alt right. The centre has now shifted and he has shifted too.
ReplyDeleteDepends how you define a Nazi. Some people think it means running around in a Nazi uniform or at least getting a swastika tattoo. Those are peripherals. My definition is the most clear and obvious one, simply someone who largely blames the Jews (as a wilful and coherent group) for the ills of the West (i.e. low birth rates, mass immigration, etc.). That is a legitimate point of view, but, like any view, it should be subjected to data, evidence, logic, and analysis, and my conclusion is that it is a deeply erroneous view and believing it does nothing but harm. Woes is clearly a Nazi in holding such views. But his main failing is that, like a lot of Nazis, is that he is just too soppy, wet, feely, and low IQ to subject his emotionally and psychologically determined views to any kind of analysis. He just wants to be a "poor whittle white person."
DeleteIf Woes subjected his views to data, evidence, logic, and analysis then Woes would no longer be Woes. Can you imagine a Woes video of that nature ? For the good of the movement Woes needs to remain the eternal teenager sitting in his room talking about his favorite bands, Blakes 7, and flipping his floppy hair.
