Here in Japan, where I am currently residing, hardly anyone knows who Greta Thunberg is. The media is simply not playing along, so this turnip-headed teen's surly scowl draws only blank expressions.
This demonstrates one of the main facts about "Little Greta," i.e. she is completely dependent on the media ecosystem to exist, and no-one would have heard of her unless the media had made a concerted attempt to endlessly push her weird brand.
Here's the BBC's front page as I write. Apparently Greta said words not unlike all the other words she has been saying since she started out, but somehow that was worthy of instant headline status, even though nothing happened and no-one was killed.
But what else do we know about Greta?
Dinesh D'Souza has managed to tie her in with the Nazis, LOL.
This is a bit cringe, but there is something in this, in a "Chinese Cultural Revolution = Hitler Youth" sort of way.
Another relevant reference is the children from The Village of the Damned. Although those kids were super intelligent and unemotional, not over-emoting teens with well-documented mental health issues talking shit about the climate.
But what is the real story behind the story in this case? Why is Greta even a thing, and why do certain powerful people want to make her such a thing?
I think what we are seeing here is part of a long-running pattern that has infested Western societies for nearly a century now, namely the pattern of a Leftist elite and its increasingly absurd search for what is known as "The Revolutionary Class."
This concept of "The Revolutionary Class," by the way, is yet more evidence of the deeply bourgeois nature of Marxism, as it simply means finding someone to outsource all the dirty work of the revolution to. Yes, "The Revolutionary Class" is actually "The Revolutionary under-Class."
As is well known, the revolutionary ideology of Marxism never succeeded because it failed to connect to its first-choice "Revolutionary Class," namely the industrial proletariat. Marx's central idea was that the proles would become radicalised enough to allow one group of elite Whites (him and his chums) to displace another group of elite Whites.
Sadly for the followers of the Marxist cult, this only happened in freak conditions like WWI-period Russia, with mass starvation and military defeat, or weird power vacuums like post-WWII China, after the Japanese army had spent more than a decade hammering away at the Nationalist government.
Yes, the two main commie events of the 20th century were mere flukes, not acts of Hegelian historical inevitability.
Anyway, thanks to this early run of good luck, Marxism was able to shuffle its ugly, misbegotten form into political and ideological existence, even though its correct place was in the offal bucket at the ideological abortion clinic. It miraculously became a thing in the world, with millions of stakeholders or hangers on, desperately seeking a way to keep the whole sick, twisted shebang going.
No group was more clued-in to the zombie status that Marxism had in the real world than the Frankfurt School, now usually cast as the bogeymen of the retarded Alt-Right and elements of the Boomer Right.
The key fact about the Frankfurt School is that they realised how little appeal Marxism actually had for the proles. This wasn't rocket science on their part, as they had just witnessed how Naziism—effectively a hodgepodge of gay uniform fetishism, girls with braids in wheat fields, and jolly drinking sessions—had knocked "scientific (i.e. boring) Marxism" into a cocked hat. Coincidentally, at the same time the anti-colonialist and Maoist tendency naturally chanced upon the same crude insight, but this was mainly because Third World countries didn't have a proletarian underclass to follow classical Marxist theory. Thus the "Revolutionary Class" became racialised as non-Whites fighting colonial oppression. One fall-out of this interesting development was that the Chinese Communists and the Soviets soon fell out, after the Chinese concluded that the Russians were patronising and possibly "colonising" them.
The Left in the West seized on non-Whites as the new "Revolutionary Class," but here an extremely funny thing happened. Instead of non-Whites doing all the donkey work of "Da Revolution" while the White bourgeois Marxists enjoyed the ride, the roles were reversed. Middle-class Lefties instead found that they were doing most of the work, while their non-White "pets" sat back, grabbed the gibs, and sidled up to the materially-focused, asocialist White working class.

The smarter elements of the Zombie Marxist parasite class, however, soon found another candidate for "The Revolutionary under-Class." This was—I shall be polite—the sexually confused LGBTQ group.
What it lacked in numbers, this class made up in visibility, and that was fine because, by the 1980s when it first started to be "weaponised" by the Left, revolution no longer meant storming the barricades or fighting endless guerrilla wars. Instead it meant dominating the media with stories that could be used to trigger and shame the insouciant masses.
But the use of the sexually confused as a "Revolutionary under-Class" has serious drawbacks as well—the main one being that the main response of the masses to "Rainbow Revolution" is a reaffirmation of the idea that consenting adults should be allowed to do WTF they like in their own bedrooms, which, in case you didn't recognize it under all the botched sex-change operations and busted prolapses, is simply anti-Marxist individualism writ small.
But back to the main point, which is this: The pattern of the bourgeois Zombie Left constantly seeking a "Revolutionary under-Class" to do its dirty work and help it accrue power helps us to understand exactly what the phenomenon of Greta Thunberg and the "Extinction Revolution" is.

As with all the Left's previous "Revolutionary under-Classes" (factory workers, non-Whites, and the sexually confused), there is the supposition that this puppet class will act in a visceral, emotional, low-IQ way that will allow the Leftist elites in the media, politics, and academia to "steer" and "manipulate" it to enhance its power and privileges. This explains why it is Greta, with her well-known mental limitations, that we see on the top of all these news stories, instead of an actually smart, clued-in kid who might realise he or she is being used and then promptly run off the Eco-plantation.
